I have got GAD, I'm on 4 different medications which at the moment are not working. Looking into taking kefir milk and vitamin b complex and magnesium supplement. Going to get blood serum test to see if I have any deficiencies. Looking at more natural ways. Meds have to much side effects but also at the moment not working.

Hi Thomas, working on your diet is a great idea...

... and I encourage you to make a few healthy changes. Check out my page foods for anxiety and follow the links to find out the types of foods you should definitely reduce (or cut out altogether) and the kinds of foods that will help to settle your nervous system.

As far as supplements are concerned, you're on the right track with a Vitamin B complex and magnesium. There are also herbs that are useful, such as Withania in particular - see Supplements for Anxiety. By the way, even if your test doesn't show any deficiencies, doesn't mean you won't benefit from taking these supplements - the recommended daily allowances are the generally the minimum amounts needed. Be sure to follow the dosage instructions.

This would be a great start. You should really take a look at some kind of relaxation technique too - Yoga Nidra, meditation, yoga are some of the best ways to give your nervous system a rest.

Good luck!
